Originally part of the huge estates of the Dukes of Leinster, Martinstown was completed by the Burrowes family between 1832-1840 in the charming Strawberry Hill gothic style as a cottage orné.  It is one of very few buildings in Ireland attributed to the famous English architect Decimus Burton.

Many interesting people have stayed here and today's visitors enjoy old-fashioned hospitality but with modern day comforts.  The house is beautifully decorated and has an informal elegance with a most welcoming atmosphere.

Set in nearly 200 acres, the house is surrounded  by wonderful trees.  There is a well maintained walled garden which supplies flowers, fruit and vegetables in season.  In the grounds there is an old icehouse and on the farm, cattle, sheep, a donkey and proper free-range hens.

Martinstown House offers you and complete tranquility and is a most convenient base from which to explore the many places of interest in the County or a day out in Dublin or further afield.
